This new collaboration explores and celebrates the historical cultural flux that crossed and re-crossed the Atlantic between the coasts of New York and Dumfries and Galloway in the 19th Century.

Sandstone Steps represents the musical element of a limited edition artist's book in a three-tier staircase wooden box, created by Hugh Bryden and Maddy Rosenberg. It consists of three "steps" each a drawer housing its own complete art event yet working together to become a full spectrum experience:

The Literary Element: Two original, handmade poetry volumes by Hugh McMillan and Desirée Alvarez.

The Musical Element: Two lathe-cut vinyl records with handprinted covers featuring original compositions by Ben Bryden and Rohin Khemani
